A desk is a basic part of the interior of a learning area in a children's room.
Stylistic decision
When decorating and equipping a room for two boys, it is advisable to choose one of the modern styles, in which even constant disorder will not look very pronounced.
For boys, Scandinavian or English styles with their simplicity and even elements of asceticism will be organic. For decoration, you can use more wood, purchase wooden furniture, but choose accents in pastel colors.
A children's room in a minimalist style is a good solution even if there is a large space.

Depending on the material
This item affects the appearance and cost of the model.
- from solid wood. Such products are distinguished by their presentable appearance and high cost. Advantages: environmentally friendly material, practicality and durability;
- Chipboard. It is distinguished by reasonable price and practicality. The disadvantage is that over time the corners become loose and the ends become rubbed;
- MDF are made from non-toxic resins, so they are more expensive. The MDF surface can easily be decorated with patterns;
- glass tables are suitable for teenagers' rooms as they transform the room into a minimalist style.
When choosing a table, pay special attention to the tabletop: a tabletop made from high-quality and reliable materials is considered good
By configuration
- Double. Suitable for children of close age, twins. Classic design involves installing a table and several side tables
- Bedside table-chair-chair-bedside table. Placing this option takes up more space and is suitable for wide rooms.
- Corner option. This option is suitable for small rooms. The same goes for adults.
- Growing furniture. Parents often buy furniture to last for several years, so adjustable furniture is the best option. Tables and chairs are made in such a way that the height of the structures changes as the child grows. Such furniture costs several times more, but allows you to save money by not having to buy it in the future.

Materials and colors
Desks should fit organically into the interior of the room. The materials from which furniture is made are subject to special requirements: environmental friendliness, safety, strength, durability. The most common options are:
- Natural wood. The material is of natural origin. Pros: environmental friendliness, reliability, attractive appearance, easy maintenance, hardwood is resistant to deformation and mechanical stress. The main disadvantage is the high cost.
- Sheet materials (MDF, chipboard). Pros: availability, variety of models, colors. Disadvantages - the school table quickly wears out, flakes, the surface is deformed upon contact with water.
- Plastic. Pros: comfort of use, light weight, mobility, low cost. Disadvantages - the likelihood of containing toxic substances, fragility, not very attractive appearance.
Tables for schoolchildren, made entirely of wood, seem too large. The ideal option would be models with metal legs and a wooden work surface.

Plastic
As for design, preference should be given to laconic, convenient options. Designs with pretentious shapes and abundant decor will only interfere and distract from activities. The colors of the furniture should be combined with the existing tones in the interior. If children have a large age difference, the shades of the workplace may be different.
Characteristics of a table that extends from under the tabletop, selection criteria
Designers recommend choosing the color of a model for two children, based on their own opinion. The priority is neutral pastel shades: soft pink, light blue, greenish. Sand and brown options and wood-like designs are popular. It is better to avoid dark colors, as they greatly burden the appearance of the room.
How to choose the right one
What and how the table will be made of directly depends on the financial capabilities of the parents.
Material
Preference is given to wood materials, and plastic should be abandoned.
For children's bedrooms, it is recommended to install furniture made from natural ingredients.
Dimensions
The first step is to measure the room and the place where the workplace will be located. Planning a student’s room is an important step, especially if the bedroom area is limited.
Most furniture is made to order, so measurements must be clearly stated.
When calculating sizes, you should rely on the height and age of the baby. This is an important stage, since children will spend a lot of time on it.

Appearance
The appearance of the product directly depends on the material and the stated requirements. The color range includes many different shades. Therefore, you can choose it for any interior.
Color solution
Designing a room for two boys needs to start with choosing a color scheme. It is important to consider the age of the children here. For the younger age group, calm, not very bright colors are suitable. At an older age, brighter and more saturated shades are appropriate, which contributes to the development of activity and creative abilities.

Color influences a child’s character and helps to fully reveal his abilities. When choosing a color scheme, you will need to consider several rules:
- It is necessary to give up red, it has too stimulating effect on the child.
- The use of black, dark blue, and purple should be limited. These shades have a depressing effect on the child and can even cause negative associations.
- Any shades of blue, green, and brown look natural in a boys’ bedroom.
- The classic combination of black and white is suitable for children of any age.
- The room looks stylish if the surface of the furniture, doors and baseboards is painted white.
- Furniture and doors painted in standard wood shades look too monotonous, so they are diluted with pastel colors.
A universal solution would be to decorate a room for two boys with neutral colors. The monotony of this design is diluted with white furniture and bright accessories. This design suits absolutely everyone; even the oldest children enjoy this interior.

Too saturated, dark colors visually narrow the space, so they are used extremely carefully. If the room is small, you need to choose wallpaper in calm pastel colors with small patterns. This expands the space. To prevent the decor from seeming too monotonous, the interior is decorated with bright accents and furniture.

Any ordinary room can be turned into a children's room with the help of appropriate accessories and accents. Bright furniture and catchy accessories are combined with neutral or white surfaces of doors, curtains, and baseboards.
When choosing a color, it is important to remember that accessories and furniture are easier and cheaper to change than to make new renovations. Therefore, the design of the walls, floor and ceiling is made neutral, and the rest can be selected to your liking.
Friends always come to the boys, sometimes several people at once, so it is recommended to adapt part of the nursery for gatherings and communication. If there is nowhere to place chairs and armchairs, place several benches, ottomans, and folding chairs. A shag carpet and plenty of soft pillows will allow you to host gatherings right on the floor.

If the brothers differ noticeably in age, then the room for two boys is divided into zones using color: two walls become the property of one son, the other two - the second. One zone, for example, for the eldest son, a student, is decorated in a sand color scheme with bright blue accents, and the zone for the younger child is made white with green accents.
The choice of color also depends on where the windows are directed. If they face south, cool shades are acceptable, while the north side will require warm tones.

Location options
In front of the window
A classic option that allows you to save space in the room and, in addition, receive natural light from the window. This placement is for rooms with a width of two meters or more. A table is placed in the center, with bedside tables, cabinets or shelves on the sides.
When placing your child’s workplace near a window, be sure to check all window fittings for serviceability.
Nuances:
- for the sake of convenience, you will have to remove unnecessary things from the windowsill so as not to reach for them;
- take care of insulating window frames.
On the same line
This placement is relevant in square rooms. A large option is placed along one of the walls. The advantage is that you can hang various shelves on the wall. The disadvantage is that less daylight reaches the work area.
Children's table for two on one line
Letter "G"
Relevant for large children's rooms, since corner placement takes up a lot of space. As a result, the designs allow children to study comfortably and also accommodate everything they need.
In front of each other
- two tables are placed along opposite walls. As a result, the children sit with their backs to each other. This allows everyone to do their own thing without interruption or distraction. Option for wider rooms.
- Schoolchildren's desks are opposite each other. The location is not always appropriate, since the area is not used rationally.
Each child has a special personality, so it is necessary to personalize each person’s workplace as much as possible.
Examples for two children
- Rectangular structures. A classic option suitable for any interior. Such models are convenient for classes and allow you to compactly organize your workplace.
- Computer desk. When choosing a model for a schoolchild, it is important to give space for writing. Attention should be paid to designs with a retractable panel, a shelf for a monitor and a compartment for the system unit.
- Corner school option. Preferable for small rooms.
- Transformer. Such models are durable and allow you to change their dimensions, for example, height, tilt of the tabletop.

Arranging a children's room is a responsible and difficult task.
Zoning a common table for two children can be done in different ways
The layout of the workplace should provide both children with free space and the opportunity to calmly go about their business. Therefore, you should take a responsible approach to choosing equipment based on the age and activities of the student.
Do it yourself - Ideas for renovation, construction, design.
Since there are three children in our family, and two of them are schoolchildren, there was a need for an additional desk, because... One is cramped.
We went shopping and saw their prices, and the quality is terrible, and to order it will be even more expensive. We decided to do it ourselves, I had little experience. Previously, I even assembled a changing table and a kitchen, although that was a long time ago.
My wife sketched such a drawing, I redrew it a little so that it would be clear where each detail was, and began to calculate.
This is what I came up with, it seems like a simple design, but I still made mistakes:(((I was in a hurry and didn’t check, as in the proverb about measuring seven times... So please do not repeat the dimensions if anyone is interested.
Then I downloaded the “Master” program for cutting and realized that chipboard did not fit on one sheet, so I decided not to bother with hardboard for the boxes and make the bottom of the boxes from chipboard too. I checked again: there is space left, I’ll make another shelf for the hall.
Let's go order cutting and facades. I also decided not to glue the edge myself; a thick one won’t stick well, and a thin one will come off the tabletop over time. I ordered 1 ml thick, since the table will be in the nursery, the colors match. A week passed - and here it is, the table, arrived at our home. All that's left to do is assemble it :)))
For assembly you will need a confirmation drill, a cutter for hinges, a magnetic attachment for self-tapping screws, a hexagon for confirmations, a drill, a jigsaw and a grinder. A jigsaw and a sander are optional, but if, like me, you messed up with the dimensions, then you can’t do without them.
We collect boxes, the most tedious job.
We screw the guides (telescopic)
Cabinets for drawers (or what are they correctly called?) - and here is the first mistake: I didn’t order the spacers, I made them from waste, they won’t be visible anyway.
We mark and screw the guides until it is convenient to do this.
We connect it with a board, which will give rigidity to the structure and at the same time hold the side part.
We screw the handles onto the drawers.
We glue the facades with double-sided tape and screw them onto the screws on the back side. Children will have their own secret box with a key :))))
A plug for the wires, cut out using a jigsaw, but if you don’t have a jigsaw, you can drill a lot of holes.
I started assembling the top - and again I made a mistake, for a long time I could not understand what was wrong... For some reason I made the middle pillar shorter than the side ones. I had to shorten the top one, but I managed to get out of it :))) We screw the top to the tabletop, and the tabletop through spacers to the cabinets.
We cut out holes for the hinges with a milling cutter and screw them in. I started hanging the facades - and again I made a mistake. The middle pillar had to be made double, because The hinges are overhead, I had to buy others, but I got out of it again. The holes are closer to the edge and pulled out by adjustment.
An extension cord for each
I screwed the top to the wall so that the whole structure would not move, and it would give me peace of mind.
When I started assembling the table, they started turning off the lights, and somehow I had to do my homework, so I bought this self-adhesive LED strip and connected it directly to the UPS battery, it lasts a long time. I just had to re-glue it for a moment, because... peeled off.
Ready! It seems like it worked out well. Although my wife miscalculated the top, the height of the shelf can be safely made 10 cm less.
And so with the tape when the lights are turned off. Even brighter than with lamps.
Well, as a bonus, here’s a shelf for books in the hall above the 3rd desk
The asking price is 14 thousand. Of course, it could have been made cheaper, the guides were simple, the bottom of the drawers was made of hardboard, the edges could be glued yourself, it would probably fit on 1 sheet, but it was easier for me. In terms of time, if the lights had not been turned off, it would have been possible to assemble it over the weekend.
